How Beast & Buckle gets 21% review submission rates over SMS
Beast & Buckle is a DTC brand offering reversible dog harnesses, collars, and leashes. They partnered with Okendo and leveraged Postscript to collect reviews and drive sales.
Building customer connections with Postscript
Stewart Anderson, founder of Beast & Buckle, wanted to create a personalized, memorable experience for his customers. This meant jumping into SMS was an easy choice, and they did so back in 2019.
“We’re a very personal and individualized brand, so a lot of one-on-one communication,” he said. “It’s one of the reasons we like Postscript so much.”
Today, SMS is Beast & Buckle’s number one marketing channel. With a 21% click-through rate, Beast & Buckle successfully meets customers right where they are. “SMS is just a good fit for our brand and how we build community,” Stewart said.
He went on to say that with SMS, his customers feel more connected with the brand, as it helps customers feel a more direct connection to the company.

As a small family business, Beast & Buckle relies heavily on reviews and word of mouth to grow. Having built a strong community of customers on SMS, they knew they would be successful at generating more reviews by asking over text.
They also feature photos and videos of their clients’ dogs enjoying the harnesses on their social media accounts. So using a review tool that supports UGC (user-generated content) was a must-have. That’s when they integrated Postscript with Okendo.
With the Postscript and Okendo integration, Beast & Buckle was able to send SMS messages with a link to a review page where customers could submit feedback on attributes like the quality and design of their products, as well as their own photos and videos. The typical submission rate for a review via SMS is 10%, but Beast & Buckle gets an astonishing 21% submission rate.
